The Pole Agnieszka Radwanska reached her first ever Grand Slam quarterfinal at Australian Open. On the way to the quarterfinal Radwanska defeated in Melbourne world No. 2 Svetlana Kuznetsova 6-3, 6-4 and 14th seeded Nadia Petrova 1-6, 7-5, 6-0 in the 4th round. Radwanska moved from 28 to 21 spot in WTA Tour Ranking. It's the highest place taken by any player from Poland in the history.
