Pakistani qualifier Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi has shocked everyone at the Campbell's Hall of Fame Tennis Championships in Newport by upsetting top seed Mardy Fish. Amazingly a top seed has never won the Rhode Island grass tournament, and the 214 ranked Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi made sure this trend continued as he defeated Fish 6-3, 6-4. The 27 year-old Pakistani is playing in his third straight main draw after qualifying for both Halle and Wimbledon. Qureshi will now face Australian Nathan Healy who cruised through his match against 19 year old American Jesse Levine.
Seventh seeded Igor Kunitsyn also fell victim today to German Mischa Zverev while another German, Nicolas Keifer, who recieved a wildcard for this event, lost in a thrilling three setter against Chilean Paul Capdeville. However, fifth seed Nicolas Mahut did regain some respect back for the seeds as he took care of Adrian Garcia.
