Roger Federer has the chance to equal Bjorn Borg's record of five successive Wimbledon titles after cruising past Richard Gasquet 7-5 6-3 6-4 to set up a repeat of last year's final against arch rival Rafael Nadal.

A break of serve in each set was all the defending champion needed against the ailing Frenchman whose marathon match against Andy Roddick the prevous day had left him with little energy reserves to cope wih Federer.
