19 year old Serbian Ana Ivanovic, a winner at Berlin and LA already this year, has added another title to her name, UNICEF National Ambassador. The likeable world number six is always keen to help out children, working at several kid's clinics throughout the year and visiting hospitals when she has time, so she was only too happy to accept the prestigious position.
"I'm humbled to be invited to take up this position. This is one of the greatest honours I've ever received, and I'm going to do my best to support all the great work that UNICEF does, both in Serbia and worldwide," said Ivanovic, who will be officially inaugurated next week.
As an ambassador, Ivanovic will help promote children's rights throughout her native country of Serbia, particularly in the areas of child protection and education. The Roland Garros runner up has already contributed to the children's charity, recently donating the CAN $11,000 she earned from an advertisement shoot in Toronto.
