Exclusive Interview with Kristof Vliegen after BNP Paribas Masters in Paris!

Inside-Tennis.net caught up with Kristof after the Paris Masters tournament.

How do you prepare for a match? Do you have a specific routine?

I prepare my match with practising for 45 miutes. It`s a question of warming up my body. Right before, I take a shower for being sure that I` m awake and ready to go for it.

Roughly how much time do you spend training?

During the year I practise every day about 4 hours - that`s when I` m not in a competition. During the tournament it`s less then 2 hours.

How do you like to relax after a match and in your free time?

I love to listen to music so I spend a lot of time in my room, and if the city is nice I go and shop sometimes.

A lot of players have on-court superstitions. Do you have any?

I always put first my left sock before the right. I know some players who never touch the lines on court during the match. I like to go to the same restaurant now and then after the match.

Do you have a favourite tournament?

Adelaide, Stockholm, the Australian open and Basel.

What are your goals for the 2007 season?

My goals are becoming top 20, winning a Grand Prix and getting to the second week of a Grand Slam..

How do you cope with being away from home for so much of the year?

I`m really lucky that I always have a coach with me and now we have Skype for calling everybody. I spend my time with my phone....but I`m used to being home a lot so for me it`s getting normal to sleep in a hotel.
